Brock Lesnar is currently scheduled to return to WWE TV for the July 19th WWE Draft live SmackDown episode in Worcester, MA. Lesnar was originally supposed to return a few weeks later but the Brand Extension apparently changed those plans.

Wow...!!!! Waiting for the Beast...:ohya:luv

Hideo Itami returned from his injury at tonight's WWE NXT live event in Winter Haven, Florida. He teamed with TM-61 to face NXT Champion Samoa Joe, Blake and Tino Sabbatelli.

Why WWE doesn't mind Brock Lesnar's one-off UFC fight?

When it was announced that Brock Lesnar would return to the UFC to compete at UFC 200 against Mark Hunt, it came as a huge surprise to everyone. Not just because Lesnar had not competed in the Octagon since December of 2011, but also because he was in the middle of a contract with the WWE where he had recently participated in their annual Wrestlemania event.
As proposed by the WWE, this fight would be a one-off opportunity and the former UFC heavyweight champion would return to the WWE for their SummerSlam event in August regardless of whether he won or lost against Hunt.
WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon explained why the pro wrestling promotion would allow Lesnar to go back to the UFC, even if it is just for one night.
“Brock is a unique proposition, but just to get to the broader question: UFC is not a competitor to the WWE because we are entertainment and UFC is competitive sport,” McMahon said in an interview with Business Insider. “It’s very different. WWE is all about protagonists and antagonists where ultimately our conflicts are settled in the ring with action that is akin to Hollywood.”
McMahon went on to explain that the WWE is built more on narrative rather than competition and the worlds of MMA and pro wrestling don’t necessarily impede each other’s progression. But the one advantage that the WWE has over others is that wins and losses don’t necessarily bear as much of a factor in popularity as they do in the UFC.
“UFC, they can make a big star but the second that person loses, they lose credibility, and how do you continue to make that star rise?” said McMahon. “So I think we have the best of both worlds and the opportunity to tell the stories in the way we want to tell them.”
Ultimately, Lesnar’s appeal to both audiences presents a unique opportunity for the WWE to gain some added exposure, even if they don’t recognize the fight on their programming.
“We are not supporting the fight necessarily but, again, it’s not a competitor to us and the more that our superstars, that’s how we refer to our talent, the more they do outside of WWE, the more awareness it generates and the broader the audience can be that is then brought back into our properties. So we recognize the value of that.”
Lesnar faces Mark Hunt in the co-main event of UFC 200 on July 9 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

As noted, because of Roman Reigns' WWE suspension, he will not be appearing on television before facing WWE Champion Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match at WWE Battleground on Sunday, July 24th. His actual in-ring return will take place the night before, at the WWE live event at the Wildwoods Convention Center in Wildwood, NJ on Saturday, July 23rd.

Jerry Lawler Domestic Assault Case Update, Charges Dismissed

Domestic assault charges against Jerry "The King" Lawler and his fiancee, Lauryn McBride, were dropped Friday, reports The Commercial Appeal in Memphis.
Lawler's attorney Ted Hansom said it was "a big misunderstanding and won't happen again. We are happy with the outcome."
Lawler, 66, and McBride, 27, were arrested in Memphis on June 17 after they both accused each other of domestic violence.
In the incident at Lawler's home, McBride claimed Lawler held her against a kitchen counter during a argument. She said he hit her in the front left side of her head and pushed her against a stove. Then he retrieved an unloaded pistol, placed it on the counter and said, "Go ahead and kill yourself."
According to the affidavit, Lawler said they argued over McBride lying about where she had been. He said she was intoxicated and tried to prevent her from leaving in her car. She then scratched the right side of his face, threw a candle at him and kicked him the groin. Lawler alleged that she got the gun from the garage and threatened to kill herself.
Both were arrested when officers could not determine who was the primary aggressor. Lawler was suspended indefinitely by WWE following the arrest.

Jerry Lawler's WWE Suspension Lifted

As noted this morning, domestic assault charges against Jerry Lawler and his fiancee, Lauryn McBride, were dismissed this morning. I contacted WWE, and they stated that Lawler's suspension has been dropped.
"Jerry Lawler's legal matter has been resolved and his suspension has been lifted, effective immediately," read the statement that WWE e-mailed to us.
The Commercial Appeal reported that Lawler's attorney commented on the case and called the incident "a big misunderstanding and won't happen again," and added that they were happy with the outcome.
WWE has suspended Lawler, 66, after he and McBride, 27, were arrested following and charged with domestic assault following an incident on June 17th. Lawler had returned home from a wrestling event which was "ironically [titled] A Night At The Slammer."
Lawler told WMC Action News 5 shortly after the arrest that McBride had returned home a little later intoxicated from a friend's house after watching Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
"We got into a little bit of a shouting match and then she wanted to leave," Lawler said. "I was not going to let her leave in the car, because she was just not in any condition to drive. She got more and more upset, she called 9-1-1 and scratched my face in the process. The police came in and said that this was a domestic dispute and that they were 'going to have to take both of you guys downtown'.
"It's just an unfortunate situation. Nobody was hit and nobody was hurt. It's just something that happened as a result of drinking too much," Lawler said.
Lawler denied reports that he hit McBride in the head and pushed her against the stove. Lawler confirmed that he had an unloaded gun and McBride was threatening to kill herself. He said that she got the gun and threw it to him. He said that he might have put the gun on the counter, but he didn't tell her to kill herself.
He said that he only has issues with McBride when she drinks, and said that she had an incident last week while she was intoxicated at the CMA Awards and got into a fist fight with her aunt.
"It's an unfortunate situation as a result of somebody drinking too much. I'm saddened by it and hope we can get past this," Lawler said.

Luke Gallows And Karl Anderson On What Shinsuke Nakamura Said Backstage At WWE Live Event In Tokyo

Karl Anderson talked about how the arena was his absolute "one or two" favorite places to work, and noted that he once wrestled in a main event at the arena that was sold out.
Luke Gallows noted that it was "surreal" entering the arena they way they used to from the New Japan bus, but then getting off and seeing the WWE signs leading them through the hall. He added that seeing the WWE ring in the arena was like "deja vu" and "very surreal."
Anderson said that he gave Shinsuke Nakamura a hug in the hallway and asked if he was OK, and Nakamura simply replied, "strange."
"It's different, it's awesome, man," Anderson said of returning to the arena. "It's beautiful."

WWE SmackDown Does Bad Number

WWE SmackDown this past Thursday averaged 2.08 million viewers, according to
Showbuzz Daily. It was down 3% from last week's 2.145 million viewers. It was up slightly from the June 16th episode, which averaged 2.073 million viewers, however that show was up against the final game of the NBA Finals. It is the third least viewed episode since the show began airing on the USA Network in January.
SmackDown was #3 for the night in the 18-49 demo, behind Nuclear Sharks and
Jungle Sharks on the Discovery Channel. In total viewers, SmackDown was #6 for the night behind several shows on FOX News,
Flip Or Flop (Home And Garden TV) and Teen Titans Go (The Cartoon Network).
