The dream has come true
The Sample Size makes the difference since qualification is based on % points,

SA has played 11 tests, Aus 16, Ind 18, NZ 14, ENG 22,

So every single result has made double impact than what it would make to ENG

Nothing to defend IND, they've lost their way miserably

Having said that, at 11 tests, India had 7 wins as well.

Only saying that the cycle calculation needs some rectification.

It needs a rework. Right now both home and away wins have same weightage but away wins should've more weightage in points
 
And all test playing nations should be included in wtc and at the end of 2vyrs cycle top 4 should be qualify for semis in particular country imo

Sri Lanka will play Finals if -
Sydney Test draw + SL win 2-0

India will play Finals if -
India win Sydney Test + (SL win 2-0, 1-0 or drawn 0-0)

Australia will play Finals if -
Australia win Sydney Test or
(Draw Sydney Test + Draw atleast 1 Test in SL) or
Win 1 Test in SL
