In India the only type of shows that ran for years and years together were Kyunki Saas..,Kahani ghar ..,Anupama etc etc.The difference i feel lies in the long term vision when they shows are thought of.For ex. take Blacklist even though something happened in 1st ssn. you can see its relevance after 4-5 ssn's.I doubt in india they think anything like that.
Regional shows have shorter run. Yet they always feels fresh. Even old episodes of TKMOC from Episode 1 - 1500 were good to watch. Episodes doesn't matter. If writing is good.

Kathikeya 2:
Average. Was bored most of the time. Don't know what's all the hype about. The Hindi dubbing was poor. The performances were average. The BGM was really good though. Overall a mediocre movie at best.

You would be amazed by things people buy from well placed Facebook ads.

Watched Raksha Bandhan on Zee5.It doesn't suit Akshay Kumar to do such mediocre movie. The movie is probably 20 years late.

Raksha Bandhan:
Loved it. This role was made for Akshay Kumar. Akshay Kumar doing what he does best. Runtime was also perfect (~1.5 hr). Whole family sat, laughed and enjoyed the movie. Few issues are that there's too many songs back to back in a short amount of time and the sometimes the comedy feels a bit forced. Overall a good movie to enjoy and relax with family.

Watched Vikram Veda in theatres.Though the movie is good (I haven’t seen the original) I can fully understand if the movie doesn’t become a commercial success. This is not a Masala movie nor it has comic scenes.I doubt theatre going public would like a movie like this which for most part is serious and dark.Acting wise everyone has done well.I wish the directors of the movie would have adapted the movie more for Hindi viewers.

I felt the 2nd half was totally senseless.I don’t know if Akshay Kumar did this movie for money or because of his relationship with Anand Rai.And as I said this story is probably 20 yrs too late. There used to be a lot of movies in late 80’s and 90’s on dowry harassment.

True. And there are many more issues as well. But me and my family enjoyed it nonetheless. And at the end of the day that's what matters in my opinion. Maybe if I watched alone, I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much.

It maybe not be mainstream. Dowry harrasment is still a silent reality. Even in community marriage (samuhik vivah). Parents are expected to give something to their daughter. I don't get why government doesn't do anything about it. It will be a good time now when government is looking forward to get rid of signs of slavery. It's high time government makes these British era dowry and sati system illegal and send us back to golden age of the Maratha Empire.
