Supergiants' campaign, flamboyant
batsman Kevin Pietersen has been
ruled out of the remainder of the
Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 after
suffering a calf tear. The 35-year-old
twisted his foot while batting, during
the Supergiants' 13-run defeat to
Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday
(April 23).
The former England batsman, walked
in at No. 3 in Pune's chase of 186 but
faced just one ball, before retiring hurt
with an injury to his right calf. He
underwent scans early on Saturday
that confirmed that tear. The right-
hander revealed the results of the test
through a personal message on a
social media portal.
