The much-celebrated flagship train of the Indian Railways — the Vande Bharat Express — is prone to serious accidents even in cases of a cattle run over, says a report on railway safety.

Vande Bharat train is capable of running at a speed of 180 to 200 kmph but we need to lay more new tracks and upgrade old tracks and bridges and the second important thing is fencing the tracks because in a country like India people come on tracks to leave their stray animals or make reels on tracks and the second important thing is that sometimes there is stone pelting on trains here, so fencing the tracks is very important. I think the Indian government should pay attention to this, all this will be done in half the budget of bullet train but work should also be done on bullet train which is important our future but the speed should be at least 400 to 500 kmph.

400kmph Not possible for atleast 15 years. 250max. A lot of expressways will be completed by 2030 and we can use them. Hopefully people will travel from these roads from Volvo travels.

Well the thing is ,you cant ask for votes in the name of fencing of tracks or track upgradation

because it's easy to show people an entirely new thing as compared to fixing old infra

for example
somebody travelling from Mumbai to Ahmedabad in Vande Bharat today with the maximum speed of 140-160 ,wouldn't notice a difference if the train is travelling at 180kmph

but if the same person is travelling from the Japanese built bullet train, he would be awe and would think that the Govt has spent money wisely or whatever

even tho it's gonna cost the same amount as taking a flight from Mumbai to Ahmedabad
 
The same way how the govt stopped adding new Mail/Express trains and focused only on Vande Bharat since the last 10 years now

because if you add more express/mail trains ,you can't exactly advertise that during elections because every Govt before the current one has added Mail/express trains

but if you add Vande Bharat trains ,then you can immediately associate with ifkyk
 
Mumbai to Darjeeling (North East) only has 4 direct trains running at about 400% over the capacity

First direct train was in the 1980s and later more were added in the 2000s
and the most recent new train addition was in 2013 before the exit of UPA Govt

after that the current regime has extended the trains by 400Km more in north-east ,worsening the situation
instead of allocating at least 3 new trains in this route

the answer was clear, it's easier to get votes in the name of Vande bharat instead of adding a generic red livery express train

(sorry if I sound political, but it is important to hi light the actual issues)
