A Kapil Dev masterclass

Possibly one of the greatest ODI innings by an Indian batsman, Kapil Dev's brutal 175 not out against Zimbabwe in the 1983 World Cup, resurrected India's campaign in the tournament. India were reduced to 17 for 5 by the intimidating duo of Peter Rawson and Kevin Curran. However, Kapil Dev's arrival at the crease changed the entire tone of the innings as he blasted his way to a spectacular 175 in just 138 deliveries, smashing 16 fours and six sixes in his knock. His action-packed innings ensured India posted a competitive 266/8 and secured a 31-run victory over the opposition.

Botham's finest moment

FTThLpm.jpg

Sir Ian Botham put up one of the finest performance of his career when he picked up 8 for 34 against Pakistan in the second innings at Lord's and completely destroyed the sub-continent team. England won the match by an innings and 120 runs. His figures, in fact, after all these years, are still the best by any bowler at Lord's. This series was important for Botham's career as it turned things around for him and he was well and truly acknowledged as an all-rounder.
