The Champions Trophy is now officially history with the ICC confirming a World Test Championship from 2017 onwards in line with its goal of having one pinnacle tournament for each of the three formats over a four-year period. This also means that the men's World Twenty20 will be held once every four years starting 2016 instead of the current two-year interval.

one of the best decision ever taken by ICC...... But it would more appreciated if they re adjusted CT50 in the vacant year every four yeasr...but For now who cares as far as test fan are concerned like me...hur-rah with much elation!

Well I am not much in favor of test Championship as the longer the format, the more advantage it is for home team !!! Instead I prefer bi-lateral contest spread over 3-4 Tests. Also doesn't make sense to have test Champion decided based on 2 Matches i.e. Semi Final & Finals. As far as Champions trophy goes it is dumped for best, though that will commercially going to hurt icc and consequently associate Nations. They Should reduce the One day World Cup to an 8 team affair with top -5 icc ranked team competing against 3 qualifiers, in a round - robin format. The qualifier should include balance test playing nations i.e. 5 Nos. and 7 Associate members, split in 2 groups of 12. The same should be held 1 year prior to World Cup & icc can sell the same as lucrative property to broadcaster. So they will have 1 Major Event in 4 year cycle i.e. T20 WC (2016), Test Championship (2017), World Cup Qualifier (2018) and One Day World Cup (2019).....
