Telegram's new Windows PC update makes it easier to group chat - MSPoweruser
Here’s a quick summary of what’s new:
  • Search for specific group messages.
  • Groups that contain missed and unread answers to your posts are now tagged with a ‘@’ badge in the chat list.
  • Scroll between the new mentions and responses to your messages in a group using the new ‘@’ button.
  • Save your stickers as “favourites” to quickly access them from the new sticker panel.
  • Add an official sticker set to your group so that all members see it and can use it when writing within the group (only for groups with more than 100 members).
  • New voice call icon for Windows phones via the Preview app

New stable version 1.2.6 of Telegram Desktop is available. It supports viewing and sending of grouped media albums. You can read about albums here:

The update is available on the official website https://desktop.telegram.org, as an auto-update in Settings and on Mac App Store. It will be available in Microsoft Store in a couple of days.

Telegram for Android now supports multiple accounts

Apple has removed Telegram’s official app from its iOS App Store. The app disappeared yesterday, shortly after Telegram launched a rewritten Telegram X app for Android. Telegram X is currently in testing on iOS, and it was also removed from the App Store. “We were alerted by Apple that inappropriate content was made available to our users and both apps were taken off the App Store,” says Telegram CEO Pavel Durov. “Once we have protections in place we expect the apps to be back on the App Store. ”

A top Russian court has told encrypted messaging app Telegram to share its encryption keys with state authorities.

Telegram, founded by Russian entrepreneur Pavel Durov, has been fighting an effort by the FSB, the state's security service formerly known as the KGB, which last year demanded that the company hand over its private encryption keys.
