Sourav Ganguly hot favourite to replace Anurag Thakur and become new BCCI boss?
Sourav Ganguly, the current boss of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), is being discussed as the hot favourite to replace Anurag Tahakur and become the new boss of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). You have to say that it is only popular speculation considering that he is a popular man apart from the fact that he is already heading a solid cricket body domestically.
The speculation will only pick up as more time is taken in the announcement considering that this has to be a very popular sentiment. One thing is for sure, if and when Ganguly does get the post of being the BCCI boss, it will really set what has to be one of the watershed moments since it will be sort of unique for an ex-national skipper to head the board.
Without question, it will be an appointment that will be openly welcomed and one can safely say that one way or the other, it will only get open support from not just cricket fans but cricket experts too.
For the moment while Ganguly’s name is being discussed, one has to once again remember that it is nothing but a popular perception. Being chosen at the BCCI boss is an all-together different matter. (Supreme Court removes Anurag Thakur as BCCI president)
We though wish that it falls through because we would love to see an ex-cricketer and captain hold the post because remember that at the end of the day, it is all about the sport’s benefit and there is quite nothing like the first-hand cricket experience that Ganguly has.
