My personal experience with Sony A80J OLED is poor. The panel has already got the burn issue on the top and it's not a small one, it's throughout the black bar on the top. It is quite common on OLED panels, however, I didn't expect Sony to get this issue such early (Just after 2 years), because they charge a bomb. So recently I recommended LG OLED to my friend, he got it at half price than Sony. Need to see how LG fares. It has it's own issues though, like the pathetic web OS, and ridiculously complicated magic remote, there's nothing magical about it. It's quite difficult to recommend OLED to anyone after what I have been through. Considering that these TVs are quite costly, it is better to think twice before going for OLED panel.

Haven't you turned on the, burn in protection - screen refresh? It moves pixels/refreshes to avoid burn in. But still its tough to avoid oled burn in

hmm.. if that happens, and quality goes down... Bravia will lose its market !
Sony wud ve thought on this... so cant say, if they ll use mediocre panels or upgraded ones
If they put the highest quality tech panel also it'll be nowhere near LG and Samsung. Actually they don't have the tech to produce OLED panels for TV currently.

TCL can sell Sony tv with its mini led and qled panels in meanwhile.

Can anyone explain under what conditions screen burn-in occurs most quickly and how to use a TV to prevent it? Is there anything that causes screen burn-in to happen quickly in a particular company's TVs? Or is the burn-in problem the same in OLED TVs from all three companies: Sony, Samsung, and LG?

I didn't buy an OLED TV in 2021 because of the burn-in problem. Hasn't the technology advanced at all in all these years?

Pixel shift is on. Also, Panel refresh has been manually run every 6 months. It's all luck.

The issue is with the technology, not the brand. That's why many brands are moving away from OLED to Mini LED and other tech.

So, should I change my decision about buying an OLED TV? After reading all of this, my mind is now completely confused.

You will have the risk of burn in with OLED. Ultimately, it's your decision, whether you want to take that risk. With what I have experienced, I'm seriously thinking not to invest high amount of money for the next TV purchase.

There are newer tech coming in gaming monitors that prevent OLED burn in. I would suggest waiting 2-3 years before getting a new OLED TV
