They are lying. My bro has downgraded same mobile to Kitkat as lollipop was hanging a lot on this phone.

Best phone is Redmi 3S prime

There'll be tutorials. You need the kit 4.4 OS provided by Lenovo for your phone. It'll be available online. Download and use local update option from updates section under settings. Or use recovery method and choose install from SD card. It's risky. Read online instructions completely and proceed.
