with just 51 Votes , Irom Sharmila Chanu loses in Manipur Election. She fasted for years for rights of people of Manipur. Citizens of Manipur blessed her with 51 votes.
This is the beauty of Indian democracy.
just imagine,The lady who fought for the rights, sacrificed so many years, of Manipur got 51 votes.
Nothing broke my heart more than the loss of irom sharmila today

Because her fast was never related to becoming CM/PM. She was used by some political party, who thought that they would ride on her mass support. So, The day she said that the reason for breaking her fast was to stand in elections, all the faith people of Manipur had on her died a silent death..

Also, all elections should be done together. Same period for state & centre. That way, people can effectively use their power of vote.

Modi ji said about this many times after becoming PM,most recent was last year when he said about a bill that will be passed in lok sabha regarding this. But after that, demonetization came and after demonetization and after that, the Parliament hasn't been allowed to function till now.. Lets see if it happens this year.
