Herath ruled out of Delhi Test; Jeffrey Vandersay added to SL squad

Veteran Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath has been ruled out of the third and final Test match, to be played in Delhi from December 2, after complaining of a sore back. Legbreak bowler Jeffrey Vandersay has been added to the Sri Lanka squad as Herath's replacement.

Left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara was SLC's first choice to replace Herath but the 30-year-old failed the fitness test. Meanwhile, Herath is due to fly home on Thursday (November 30).

Thisara Perera named captain for ODI series against India :hehe::hehe:

Thisara Perera will lead Sri Lanka's ODI team in the three-match series against India beginning December 10. It will be the 28-year old allrounder's first experience of the role in 50-over international cricket, however, he was in charge of a depleted T20I side that played Pakistan in Lahore last month.

Yeah deserve the below smileys
:lol::lol::p:p

Too bad. Srilankan Cricket has gone to the worst ever level. Bangladesh has already become more competitive than Srilanka these days and if they dont have anyone apart from Thisara Perera to lead the side then soon they will fall behind Afganistan and Ireland if they get as many chances to play the best sides like Srilanka do. Although Thesara Perera is an ex-cskian I could never defend him for this troll on him.

Rohit Sharma deserves this opportunity. He did really well as Captain in IPL even better than Kohli.

:( no raina... Why they ignoring Raina??
Totally disappointed seeing Rahane being selected and Raina being ignored yet again. An attacking left handed batsmen with useful off-spin and a great fielder will always be missed. May be the selectors ran out of patience with his short ball weekness overseas. But then he has surely improved his technique and deserves a chance.

India have won the toss & elected to bat first...
