Sony announced its next-generation PlayStation hardware back in April and offered a demo in May. We didn't know much about its next console, the Play Station 5, except that it would offer vast improvements over the PlayStation 4 -- until now.

On Tuesday, Sony President and CEO Jim Ryan pulled back the curtain and offered up new details about the PS5, including a release date. Here's everything we know so far about the PlayStation 5.

After a long build, Sony still didn't show off the much anticipated new PS5 at CES. Instead, it showed us the logo. It isn't shocking, but it's pretty sweet. Sony changed the 4 to a 5, and... it's rounder? Sony confirmed a holiday 2020 release date for the new console. Instead of showing the new physical hardware, it confirmed a number of other exciting specs, but specs we already knew about, such as 3D audio support and an SSD hard drive for faster load times.

Sony reveals that it hasn't decided the PS5's price and says that it's 'very difficult' but this could be part of a big plan for the company.

The decision will likely upset gamers who are using price to choose between the PS5 and the Xbox Series X.
