The worst part is you can't use ad-blocker with Sony Liv.

You can, if you don't need live channels. I use Sony LIV only for the on demand content and it works very well with Adguard DNS configured on my Android smart TV. For the live channels I have Tata Play DTH.

Only Firestick and appletv has way to check the display config. Fireestick4K is dispalyed in true 4K. No way to check in android tv/googletv
