Sony Electronics detailed its new line of Bravia 4K Ultra HD television sets yesterday, revealing that PlayStation 3 games are playable on the devices via PlayStation Now.

Three new series and a total of nine models of the 4K TVs will come out in June (ranging in price from $2,100 to $25,000 USD), with the ability to stream PlayStation 3 games directly to the sets via PlayStation Now, according to Sony Electronics. Users will need to connect a Dualshock 3 controller to the 4K TVs to play titles via PlayStation Now.

“We continue to be the only company that offers a complete lineup of consumer 4K products, including TVs, front projectors, cameras, and camcorders, while also leading the industry in providing 4K content," said Mike Fasulo, president at Sony Electronics. “... We strongly believe 4K is the future for entertainment, and we remain committed to leading the 4K movement, from lens to living room, in a way that only a company like Sony can.”

In January, Sony unveiled PlayStation Now, a streaming service to play PlayStation games that's subscription-based and features online multiplayer and trophies. In March, reports suggested that games will cost around $5 and $6 USD to rent on PlayStation Now, though there wasn't any information on how long a rental may last.

IGN got hands-on time with PlayStation Now earlier this year and thought content looked good streaming, though there was some obvious compression. PlayStation Now requires a 5Mbps internet connection and is currently in beta.

For those simply looking for 4K content, Sony also announced a new 4K Ultra HD media player, the FMP-X10, which streams and stores 4K content from Sony's Video Unlimited 4K service. It also comes with 1TB of storage for local downloads. While pricing is still forthcoming, Sony says the FMP-X10 will arrive on store shelves this summer.
