Every Indian language has as much weightage as Hindi. If an app wants to penetrate the entire Indian market they will have to cater to the regional masses in the non Hindi belt as well. This should be the norm. Hindi and English. Don't waste resources on other regional languages.
Cool, they should start with Bhojpuri, Marathi, Gujarati, Assamese and Bengali market from start. As others are already catering to the South.Every Indian language has as much weightage as Hindi. Nah first will be the south the reason being South dont understand Hindi whereas majority of people in Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal understand HindiCool, they should start with Bhojpuri, Marathi, Gujarati, Assamese and Bengali market from start. As others are already catering to the South.
That's an ignorant thing to say. Have you been to these states? Just like in rural areas down South. People in rural areas in North also don't completely understand Hindi. In South because of the church. You even got more English speakers there. And even urban people didn't learn Hindi overnight. There is a great opportunity to watch subbed content you and learn a new language. That's how most of us learnt English. I am just saying the percentage of people who understand Hindi in north states is more than the number of people in South understanding HindiThat's an ignorant thing to say. That because more people lives in north as compared to South which is why it is a better market. You can monetize from just ads. This is why something like DD FreeDish can work only in North. Meanwhile you need subscription revenues on top of ads to make money from South.I am just saying the percentage of people who understand Hindi in north states is more than the number of people in South understanding Hindi
So first if they start regional language mostly it will be Tamil, Telugu and later other languages
Depends on returns & popularity. Earlier in South dubbing was only in Tamil then expanded to Telugu and finally to Malayalam & Kannada. Even in Malayalam & Kannada not every content is getting dubbed like Tamil & Telugu. Also the TV channels in these languages played role in catalysing dubbed contents. Its not a matter of bias or favour. Hindi - Tamil - Telugu - others..this is the general order of priority.Cool, they should start with Bhojpuri, Marathi, Gujarati, Assamese and Bengali market from start. The only way to reach the mass audience is through dubbing. It’s weird to see English originals in Hindi.I am sure that’s true for other languages too.
