After the successful launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, it might be time to talk about the next big thing – Samsung Galaxy S8. New reports suggest that the next generation Galaxy S device from Samsung (possibly named the S8) might come with the company’s brand new Exynoss 8895 processor. This processor is rumoured to be faster than the next generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 830, and Apple’s A10 processor that are yet to launch.
According to a MobiPicker report, Samsung’s next processor – Exynos 8895 might come with an extremely high working frequency of 4GHz, while the Snapdragon 830 is rumoured to clock at 3.6 GHz (Apple A10 is expected to clock at 2.6 GHz). The next generation of Samsung’s SoC is expected to have more than one processor – with the main cluster working at 4GHz, while the smaller cluster will clock at 2.7 GHz.

In another leaked report, it has been revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 has been codenamed ‘Project Dream’ (Galaxy S7 was codenamed ‘Project Lucky’), and might launch in 2017. The report also suggested that the phone might support virtual reality. The phone is also expected to sport a 5.5-inch display with 4K resolution, and a dual rear camera sensor, which seems to have become a norm now. The phone is also expected to feature 6GB RAM.
Samsung Galaxy S7 was launched in March this year. The phone carried forward the same glass-metal design as the S6 launched in 2015, but features a new rear camera technology called the ‘Dual Pixel’. The phone features a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, and features 4GB RAM with 32GB and 64GB versions.

The Galaxy Note 7 isn’t even available at retail in most markets around the world, but rumors about the Galaxy S8 are already starting to crop up. We have heard that the S8 could introduce a 4K display to Samsung’s smartphone lineup (whether this display will work in 4K mode at all times or only in particular cases remains to be seen), and our very own Weibo source (who runs SamMobile China) is now claiming that Samsung is working on major changes in the camera department for its next flagship.

The Galaxy S8 will supposedly come with dual cameras at the back, a move that Apple is expected to make with the upcoming iPhone 7. The primary camera will remain a 12-megapixel sensor as on current Galaxy flagships but will be accompanied by a 13 MP secondary sensor. For those unaware, a secondary sensor would help with better depth-of-field, or bokeh as it is commonly called, effects in photos. The front camera is also apparently getting an upgrade to an 8-megapixel camera – it would be great to see this come true, as Samsung’s 5-megapixel front camera is starting to fall behind the competition in this day and age.

Unsurprisingly, it is also mentioned that the S8 will come with an iris scanner. It is too early to take any of these rumors too seriously so many months before the S8 will make an official appearance, but with dual camera setups set to be the next big thing in smartphone photography, Samsung probably will be looking to keep up. Given how excellent the company’s smartphone cameras are today, it probably won’t find that hard to do.

Samsung to Launch Galaxy S8 on February 26, Leaked Teaser Tips...

Samsung, after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, has been rumoured to advance the launch of its next Galaxy flagship. Now, a leaked teaser claims that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will launch on February 26 thus clearing the air that next flagship launch won't be advanced. According to details shared by Twitter user Ricciolo, Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place at the side-lines of MWC in Barcelona, the event Samsung has historically launched its Galaxy S series flagship in.
Unfortunately, the pre-launch teaser has not been made public by Samsung thus leaving us to speculate that this may change in future. Previously, Samsung has officially announced launch details of its flagship Galaxy as well as Note-series handsets. For Samsung, turning consumers focus towards the next flagship makes sense after replacement Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units catch fire.

Some of the other details leaked about the Galaxy S8 apart from the purported launch include the inclusion of dual camera setup at the back, as tipped by a pair of trademark applications. The smartphone is said to come with 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel dual-rear camera setup. The trademarks first reported by Galaxyclub showed that the company applied for "LightUp Camera" and another trademark with naming "Light+ Camera." The report cites an excerpt from the trademark that said, "Camera Sensor for use in enhancing the brightness and clearness of digital images and photographs taken in low-light environments."
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is also said to get rid of the signature home button seen on earlier flagship Galaxy phones. One of the starkest changes expected on the Galaxy S8 will be on the display front, as reported by ET News Korea. The smartphone is said to come with the company's first bezel-less design.
Samsung is said to be working on a new design where the front with no home button will be filled with all glass and will also incorporate fingerprint-sensing display. Under the hood, Samsung is expected to pack an upgraded application processor.
"Galaxy S8 will be equipped with half of Snapdragon 830s and half of Exynos that is manufactured by Samsung Electronics' System LSI Business Department," claims ET News Korea.

lthough Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 had a short life span in the market, the company seems to have moved on with plans for the Galaxy S8 firmware already.
As reported by Sammobile website, the firmware is currently being developed keeping markets, such as China, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States in mind. Once a stable build is developed for the Galaxy S8, Samsung will start working on the UI for additional countries, the report adds.

The Galaxy S8 might not be introduced early as per recent 'rumours'. The company had started working on the firmware for Galaxy S7 around this time last year and launched the smartphone in February. In that stead, it has scheduled an event for February 26, 2017 ahead of the MWC conference in Barcelona.

According to rumours, the Galaxy S8 would come in two variants based on screen size and resolution. While one could feature a 5.1-inch QHD resolution display, the other might sport a 5.5-inch 4K resolution Super Amoled display. Both are expected to run Qualcomm's Snapdragon 830 processor for few markets, and the Exynos 8895 CPU in others.

The 5.5-inch 4K resolution display variant is additionally expected to feature a dual rear camera setup and a new artificial intelligence to replace Samsung S Voice.

Hope they will provide regular updates for their current successful flagship Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge. As they always abandon the old flagships. S7 has got no major OS updates, expecting atleast 2 new android versions in future.

I guess they'll surely provide two updates for s7.

We all know that Samsung is trying its hard luck to once again impress its customers who lost their loyalty to the company due to the in-famous Galaxy Note 7. But, how far the company is planning to go with its upcoming Galaxy S8 to put the fire set by Galaxy Note 7 off - this is something we still do not know.
Reports and rumours have been surfacing over the past few weeks hinting about the upcoming Galaxy S8 and the most recent of them is that the Samsung’s flagship smartphone is expected to sport an OLED display and interestingly, may come without any bezel at all. If at all any bezel is found, it is believed to be very little.
According to a recent post on Gadgets 360, The Investor seems to have reported that the upcoming Samsung flagship smartphone may come with a full edge-to-edge OLED display with 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio.
This clearly shows that the smartphone’s front portion is mostly made up of an OLED display and just 10 per cent will be most likely a metal body. Interestingly, it is also being said that the upcoming Apple iPhone 8 will also be coming with an OLED display panel!
Speaking about other rumours regarding the upcoming Galaxy S8 by Samsung, we may see a dual-curved edged screen, optical fingerprint sensor without any home button, and a 6 GB of RAM coupled with a Exynos 8895 processor. The smartphone may also come with a 16 MP and 8 MP dual rear camera setup.

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd said it would launch an artificial intelligence digital assistant service for its upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone, seeking to rebound from the Galaxy Note 7’s collapse and differentiate its devices. The world’s top smartphone maker in October announced the acquisition of Viv Labs Inc, a firm run by a co-creator of Apple Inc’s Siri voice assistant programme. Samsung plans to integrate the San Jose-based company’s AI platform, called Viv, into the Galaxy smartphones and expand voice-assistant services to home appliances and wearable technology devices. Samsung is counting on the Galaxy S8 to help revive smartphone momentum after the discontinuation of fire-prone Galaxy Note 7s, which will hit its profit by $5.4 billion over three quarters through the first quarter of 2017.

Investors and analysts say the Galaxy S8 must be a strong device in order for Samsung to win back customers and revive earnings momentum.

Samsung did not comment on what types of services would be offered through the AI assistant that will be launched on the Galaxy S8, which is expected to go on sale early next year. It said the AI assistant would allow customers to use third-party service seamlessly.

“Developers can attach and upload services to our agent,” said Samsung Executive Vice President Rhee In-jong during a briefing, referring to its AI assistant. “Even if Samsung doesn’t do anything on its own, the more services that get attached the smarter this agent will get, learn more new services and provide them to end-users with ease.”

Technology firms are locked in an increasingly heated race to make AI good enough to let consumers interact with their devices more naturally, especially via voice. Alphabet Inc’s
Google is widely considered to be the leader in AI, but others including Amazon.com, Apple and Microsoft Corp have launched their own offerings including voice-powered digital assistants.
