Breaking Reliance to retain Disney+ Hotstar as sole streaming platform for merged entity!

Reliance for time being will retain both services to cater to different audience.

Premium streaming service as hotstar and ad driven free service as jio cinema.
There will be clear distinct of content , with hotstar being premium service will house lucrative sport rights like IPL, ICC, BCCI ,FIFA, ATP, NBA whereas Jio cinema will house low end crickets like T10 , local cricket and Pro Kabadi.

shows of hotstar specials which are mass appealing will move into jio cinema along with jio studios shows, whereas high budget driven shows of viacom18 and star will be housed under hotstar.

coming to movies, Movies will premier on hotstar for certain window period. and some will eventually move to jio cinema.

The vison comes to clearly distinct the amount of content the new company posses. which will be overwhelming to audience. Also premium consumers dont want unnecessary mass appealing content on their feed which will lead to loss of subscribers in long run.


one thing i dont understand is, its a brilliant move no doubt but how will they tell Tv audience where to stream their shows. as i believe serials will be in jio cinema.

also PS: it will likwly be called hotstar , just hotstar .

So, Regular TV content on Jio cinema, hotstar originals, Englsih and costly Sports content on hotstar. Is Bigboss show is Mass or Class/Premium ;) :ROFLMAO:

if they continue to retain both , i believe jio cinema wont be completely free. you would still need to pay to access stuff like watch on same day or watch live tv channels .
 
Good thing they moved sports to Hotstar I remember what happenend when JioCinema thought they will start telecasting FIFA WC couldnt watch the first match properly
