The Indian Railways may soon be open for investment from private players by allowing them to operate passenger trains on low-congestion and tourist routes.

National transporter may also consider bringing in premium trains like Rajdhanis and Shatabdis, under this plan, for which a tender is likely to be released within four months.

Pvt operators may run Rajdhani, Shatabdi, passenger trains on select routes

Railways mulls proposal to invite private firms to run trains on some routes

If it is implemented then Soon Govt railway will become BSNL and private operators will beat them within 5 years. No wonder why private metros runs successfully though high fare but Govt's own kolkata metro which breaks down every now and then
