Daily? How do u tolerate? Hope situation will improve once kundakulam operate in full strength.

kundakulam will never help as the contribution is really less as other states too have around 55% share and the plant also seems to be still under testing phase.

I Thinks India Has A Second Largest Country In Population So Don't Export Electricity To Other Countries For Money

:( :(

It is all fate of Tamil Nadu...

Apart from these daily 2 hours power shutdown, there is also a scheduled power shutdown from 9AM to 5PM for maintenance activity on monthly basis on different day for different areas.

Today was the schedule for our area in Chennai. :(

..

9 - 5 power cut is a real hell, imagine a full day without power in such a bad weather round the year. If we don't have the sea breeze Chennai would have been burnt by now.

Don't know why political leaders don't understand this.

What they really understand??

While there are terrible floods across the north there is a severe drought in the south which causes neighborhood states to fight with each other, if a proper water management mechanism is followed then we can reduce the price of agricultural commodities atleast by half.

But who cares? All they care is wealth, vote and power.

OMG and we are exporting power to Bangladesh. What is upa doing? Are we living in 21 century?

What NDA did when they were in power? Atleast UPA now connected South Grid with National Grid - even well before the project dead line.

Whoever is there in the central...

Benefit is for them only.. Not for the people... No use of our discussion here.. Let us see after central elections...

..

TN was never had this issue. Yes , we had issue in 95-96 , four hours powercut. But it was then minimized to zero. The issue really started when TN Govt brought many companies , investments in to TN like Nokia , Hundai , Dell etc. We didn't have much power big power plants in 2001-2006 , and even in 2006-2011. But as it got worse , in 2009-2011 Govt started some projects which are yet to be completed. And , TN govt now not buying power from Wind Mills , god only knows why!! And many old plants goes into maintenance mood very often now.

Now , in last week of Dec , south grid is connected to national grid. Hope Govt now will start buying power from other states and solve the issue.

Yes, this is one of the UPA's achievement and a gift to the power starved TN that too five months ahead of schedule.

Still we have to wait 2 to 3 months for it to be fully operational and to start receiving the power from the surplus North and North Eastern Grid.
