OnePlus has announced the start of the OxygenOS 2.1.3 OTA update rollout for its latest smartphone, the OnePlus X. The update focuses on improving the user experience with SD cards, brings security patches, and more.

"We've heard your feedback and have spent some time focusing on improving the user experience for SD card. We are not done yet so please expect more updates and feature additions to come in the next couple of OTAs..." stated the company blog post.

The OxygenOS 2.1.3 update for the OnePlus X features improvements in UX, exFAT SD card support, ability to move apps to and from SD card, and a fix for reboots caused by removing SD card in an active state. The update also includes security patches and general bug fixes and optimisations.

OnePlus says the OTA rollout would take place in phases. Elaborating the process, the company said that it initially rolls out the update to just 10 percent of its users to check if the OTA system is working correctly. "We usually open up OTAs to the general public 24-48 hours after the initial release if all goes well."

The Chinese smartphone maker earlier this month started rolling out OxygenOS 2.1.2 update to the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X smartphones. The update for the OnePlus X brought UX bug fixes in the Camera app; improvement to colour offset in HDR mode; bug fixes to System Update to improve OTA stability; system optimisations in low battery state, and general bug fixes & performance improvements.

OnePlus 2 OxygenOS Update With Android Marshmallow Is Currently Undergoing Soak Testing

OnePlus doesn't ship its phones with plain vanilla Android. They run OxygenOS. No matter. It's Android, and what people want from the over-the-air updates remain the latest version. Right now that's Marshmallow.

Apparently OnePlus is soak testing its Android 6.0 update, which is going out as part of OxygenOS 3.0. A reader has reached out to us with these screenshots.

In them, we don't just see confirmation that the phone is running Marshmallow. We also see some of the tweaks that OnePlus has baked into its ROM. The images show off new wallpapers, a slider for alerts, and customizations to the homescreen.

The OnePlus 2 received Oxygen 2.2.1 earlier this month. The update added a few features, but it wasn't much to get all that excited about. This latest release, when it lands, should be the real deal.

OnePlus 2 OxygenOS 3.0 Beta based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow released

OnePlus last month rolled out its OxygenOS 2.2.1 update to its OnePlus 2 smartphone. It has now started rolling out the same update to the OnePlus X.

The Chinese tech firm brings a bunch of improvements and fixes for the OnePlus X as part of the update. The OxygenOS 2.2.1 fixes data leak issues faced when in roaming connections, microphone muting while using Google Hangouts, and app drawer not launching when the Google search bar is hidden.

Besides these fixes, the OxygenOS 2.2.1 for OnePlus X also includes GMS 3.0 upgrade, APN update to support Tigo carrier, security patch update, and general bug fixes and optimizations. The OTA rollout will be conducted in a phased manner, so it might take a while to reach all OnePlus X users, says the firm on its forum post. Users can manually check for the new update availability by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates on their OnePlus X .

The smartphone in February received a
hotfix update for the camera corruption issue. The OTA update however, kept the handset at OxygenOS 2.2.0.

The same OxygenOS 2.2.1 version for the OnePlus 2 brought RAW file support for the native camera app, fixed occasional image corruption issue in the camera, and included improvements in Bluetooth compatibility, roaming issues, and Ultra-SIM compatibility as well.

Last week, OnePlus slashed the price of the OnePlus X handset in India. Now, the OnePlus X Onyx Edition is available via Amazon India at Rs. 14,999. It was launched in Rs. 16,999. The smartphone was invite-only at first, but it became available via general sale in February this year.

Hi bro

As per your suggestion, I bought One Plus 3 yesterday and its awesome phone. I'm loving it. But there are 3 small issues which I wanted to share with all:

1. I have stored many Doctors phone numbers in my SIM as Dr. Ashok, Dr. Pradeep, etc. When I was using Samsung phone, it was showing them under "D" letter but OP3 is ignoring "Dr." word and showing "Dr. Ashok" under "A" letter, "Dr. Pradeep" under "P" letter and so on. Its very irritating. Is there any fix for it?

2. I didnt find any Speed Dial function in it. The speed dial given in Dialer main screen overwrites numbers. So there is no proper speed dial similar to other phones.

3. I noticed that Dialer and Message icons on Home screen dont show count bubbles on them when there are missed calls or unread messages similar to Samsung phone. Is it true?

Otherwise its an awesome phone. :)
