Not sure what you meant by that. Oxygen OS is available outside China only prior to this integration as well.
Once OPLUS was formed, OxygenOS updates slowed down dramatically for previous gen devices. Now when we have the OP9 series, even for last gen devices the updates have slowed down...

Good riddance. Next year they would have matched Apple’s prices but with slow as molases 2 yr OS support compared to Apple’s quick but 5+ yrs OS support.

What is the best Android device now? Latest Snapdragon but under 40k?
 
They should keep OnePlus and retire the name OPPO. Oppo literally sounds like a Chinese phone 😄

Oppo & OnePlus is called OPLUS internally. They can use this name as well. But the problem is that there's already a brand called Oplus.

If rebranding fails they can always bring OnePlus back. If they try to bring back Oppo on failure of OnePlus. No one will care.
