They took a U-turn.

Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan confirmed that the government has no plans to ban liquor, citing issues faced by Gujarat and Bihar. Instead, Rs 100 crore will be allocated by the Excise Department to educate people on alcohol's ill effects. The state aims to create a balanced approach, avoiding illegal liquor sales and raising awareness.
