It means MyJio app will show the connection as Postpaid AirFiber but you can do recharge or keep it idle like Prepaid connections.
Ohh so if suppose I don’t pay and the connections gets suspended like a normal prepaid system untill I pay/recharge again ?

Since my uncle who has a Jio Fiber OFC it’s a postpaid connection but the bill gets generated every month.

If it’s a prepaid model as you say I don’t mind taking it as a secondary connection. As I can keep it not recharged and suspended when not in use

has that issue been resolved ? IMO, you should think before switching as both ISP will have same features and options one day with minimal difference.

Why don’t you keep both and use both side by side. Cancelling one and then going back to the other just because it offers more value today is not justified. Tomorrow the other one can offer some more value ? So would it be right to go back to that again ?

Best is use both together
I totally agree with you. And I also do this. 👍

Fortunately, among my two ISP connections, one is prepaid type connection. So I recharge it as per my flexibility, while the other connection needs monthly bill payments so I only have the option to downgrade or upgrade it's plan.

If Indian ISPs make themselves less greedy and starts providing Prepaid broadband connections like the good old days, many may hold dual ISPs. But it sounds like a dream in today's time. 🫠

Jio is prepaid bro...i can keep it disconnected but airtel is postpaid, they will keep generating bills...

Tomorrow i will install jio airfiber and use it till EOD, if everything fine will raise a disconnections request for airtel day after tomorrow

I will answer some of the questions that I can. 🙂

Jio no longer offers Prepaid connections. Now a days they are offering Prepaid on Postpaid type connections.

You will be able to download invoice for each recharge payments and reimburse it with your company. I don't see any issue here.

Yes. Newly manufactured Jio STBs comes with 64GB storage. However, beware Jio mostly provides refurbished units due to the amount of stock they get due to canceled/recovered materials. So double check the STB before giving proceeding with it's activation or sharing the OTP. Also, make sure to communicate with the Jio installer to come with a 64GB storage Jio STB. They can only do it.

Jio no longer installs the AirFiber MU (normal ODU type) connections. Currently, the circular (C6x) AirFiber UBR antenna connections perform the best. If you get the rectangular C6 type connection, stability issues may arise.

However, new C6 device don't require a clear LoS. But old C6x device requires clear LoS.

LoS = line of sight
Thank you bro...i have old odu also installed in my roof which jio engineer didn't take before 1.5 years... probably can re-use .. stability matters !

Regarding the stb, I will visit the office personally and ask for the 64gb stb..thanks again for this useful info!

You can not re-use that AirFiber MU type ODU in a new connection bro. Each Jio Fiber/AF device is paired with a connection, unlike DTH antenna, you can not use it with a connection of your choice.

You will get new and currently available device only. 👍

How is jio prepaid ? Don’t they offer only postpaid ? If we don’t pay then they come to take away the hardware

It's like prepaid only bro...if you don't pay then you can't use.. they don't bother about the device pickup, last time when I disconnected no one came for pickup, I had to raise a complaint after 5 days to pickup..even then they didn't came and asked me to submit in local office
