Hi guys,
I want to switch to jio airfiber , can someone help to answer below queries -

1. Is there any offer going on for new connection ? the powerplay pass, i currently don't see in myjio app

2. Better to book connection online or local jio store? They were saying need to pay ₹807 , then you will get 1 month free and ₹150 cashback after 3 months..not sure if fake or true.

3. Most important, i understand it's now like prepaid, that we need to recharge but is there any option to generate/get bill too so that I can reimburse from my company? Local store guy was saying you can download from myjio app
4. Does new stb comes with 64gb ?

5. Anything else need to keep in mind?

Currently using airtel black but if adding channels price is becoming high , so compromising on the channels ..

Their black plans almost has all hd channels but if someone need odd/other language channels like english movies not related to their base pack then need to pay extra..

I am seriously thinking to switch to jio airfiber now considering they already launched live channels and network is pretty stable as compared to airtel
What will you do with channels like English movies bro? That genre's end has started by Zee's move and probably it would soon become like current English GEC genre. But if your probable needs consist of other channels also and you really want to switch to Jio Airfiber then it's fine.

Sometime i watch star movies hd, mn and mnx hd and sony pix hd..with airtel i need to pay extra for these channels around ₹80 ..

I will answer some of the questions that I can. 🙂

Jio no longer offers Prepaid connections. Now a days they are offering Prepaid on Postpaid type connections.

It means MyJio app will show the connection as Postpaid AirFiber but you can do recharge or keep it idle like Prepaid connections.

You will be able to download invoice for each recharge payments and reimburse it with your company. I don't see any issue here.

4. Does new stb comes with 64gb ?
Yes. Newly manufactured Jio STBs comes with 64GB storage. However, beware Jio mostly provides refurbished units due to the amount of stock they get due to canceled/recovered materials. So double check the STB before giving proceeding with it's activation or sharing the OTP. Also, make sure to communicate with the Jio installer to come with a 64GB storage Jio STB. They can only do it.

5. Anything else need to keep in mind?
Jio no longer installs the AirFiber MU (normal ODU type) connections. Currently, the circular (C6x) AirFiber UBR antenna connections perform the best. If you get the rectangular C6 type connection, stability issues may arise.

However, new C6 device don't require a clear LoS. But old C6x device requires clear LoS.

LoS = line of sight

That was back in nov 2024 ..I switched because jio stb experience was awful to repeated switch between live tv and app when access zee channels...it was really frustrating
has that issue been resolved ? IMO, you should think before switching as both ISP will have same features and options one day with minimal difference.

Why don’t you keep both and use both side by side. Cancelling one and then going back to the other just because it offers more value today is not justified. Tomorrow the other one can offer some more value ? So would it be right to go back to that again ?

Best is use both together
