How is Prime Video benefitting from releasing of new Indian movies on Rent before Prime? Not even a single ad is given on their social media. Even if they give ad, they know most people are going to head to telegram or torrent once they see the ad. If they give ad, at lease some people will rent. Yet no ad is given.

No idea dude.
For foreign movies it makes sense. One platform owns the streaming rights, and the remaining can have it on VOD basis. That have been the case since the beginning.
But for Indian movies, they themselves hold the streaming rights as well. So I don't understand what's the point. I doubt they are earning as much as they are getting trashed on Social Media due to this.
On top of this, they are losing viewers that are already subscribed to their platform. Because once it's out on Rent, within few minutes it will be available everywhere illegally. So people who are already subscribed to their platform will feel betrayed. Because the once that don't have their subscription are already getting to watch it before them. While the person who is already a subscriber has to wait for it to become free. Some of them might decide to watch it illegally as well. Hence, Prime Video losing streams from their own subscribers.

VOD won't work in india unless they restrict piracy. in USA it is successful and most of them are renting or buying.
