Hello all, I want to buy a new 4g wifi hotspot for my parents. Only Airtel 4g and BSNL 3g are available currently in my native. BSNL Broadband not available currently. I have below options, please give me your opinion on this or any other idea.
OPTIONS :
1. Buying Airtel dongle from local store
Pros
:
Price is 1000 (1000 discount as a corporate offer)
Cons :
a. I have to use it only with Airtel. In future if Jio or any other network available, I can not use
b. I have to buy a new sim also (free but mandatory). Postpaid plans are costly. Minimum I need to pay 499+18% monthly for 1GB/day plan
2. Buying universal 4g dongle online
Pros :
a.
I can use it with any network any time
b. I can use it with prepaid sim, which is comparatively cheaper (349,1gb/day-28days)
Cons :
a.
Costly , more than 2.5k
b. Most of them are unlocked, so no guaranty or warranty. Dont know the performance also

Go 4 Huawei 8372 or Dlink lepetit 4G modem ... Unlocked modem are good as u can use any sim ...in future if jio become available in your area U can use jio also with that modem .
Perosonally I prefer Dlink 4G modem as it has 3 year warranty service .
I'm using Dlink Lepetit modem though it's 3G modem with BSNL 3G 444/- plan. It's a nice device.

But post paid sim card is mandatory , I have to pay around 650 after 1 month usage. Post paid sim whether airtel will deactivate immediately if I request ?

Signal reception is soso...I got decent signal on 1000 Sq.ft flat.I mostly used it for TV. no problem for me.
And it has only 4G,only 3G ,2G option.
Thats a cool option. Both DLink and Huwai has this option ?
May be I will buy tomorrow only since I am going this weekend to my native.
I checked online for availability and prize. I got only Huawei 8372 for around 3k in Flipkart and Amazon. I did not find Dlink lepetit 4G. May I know where I can get it?
