Right....Very slow in upgrading to 4K..
They should have opted 4K too along with full HD...They r targeting VIP users only...No.

It's not targeting VIP users! Cricket is not produced in 4K that's it! If Star has 4k channels and they would have produced in 4k otherwise they cannot do that as its uses a lot of bandwidth which costs them a lot.
Ps. VIP subs will get 720p only as per their plans.
Plans may show 720p but I am getting 1080p ...No other VIP subscribers didn't checked or not replying here....I have already posted confirmation by posting ss....

There must be some upgradation happening then ie., allowing VIP to have 1080p or HDCP content protocols have messed up
I have subscribed VIP on 2nd or 3rd August..Since then I am getting 1080p if sufficient net speed available....

All live sports feeds are produced in 4K only. They can show it in 4K but it will cost them more in terms of bandwidth. 1080p is just more economical
