Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) has been conferred with the award of “Best Metro Airport” in India. CSIA was voted as the best airport at the Air Passengers Association of India (APAI) event held in the national capital on Wednesday. The award was presented to CSIA by Union Minister Smriti Irani. According to critics, the award was conferred upon CSIA as it offers best-in-class comfort and convenience to travellers among other airports in the league.

In a poll conducted by APAI, passengers from across the nation voted as CSIA as the most convenient airport to travel among others across the nation. The award is a recognition of the efforts taken by CSIA over the years to enhance customer experience and provide the best-in-class comfort through state-of-art infrastructure.

At the award ceremony, members of Indian political fraternity were also present. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Food Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy, and some other politicians were present.

APAI awards are keenly awaited by frequent air travellers, as the organization is the only non-profitable outfit dedicated towards constructive development of the aviation industry.
