Discussion JioTV+ vs Airtel IPTV vs DTH live channels picture quality

Sorry, currently all my dth are not recharged due to the poor quality and moved to ott and iptv services.

If anyone have a same channel screenshot from any dth, share here to compare it

Exactly Even if you pay 599/m simply for DTH , you won't get all channels , No OTT and no internet service , It is awesome Airtel gives 30 mbps(1000GB FUP) , 22+OTT(4-5 GOOD OTT) , and All tv channels that you could ever watch(u can change packs of tv channels as many time as you want,no extra charge for Airtel Black Ultimate HD packs)

I am considering to get a Jio FIber connection. Currently I am using local ISP with TATA Play HD DTH. I would like to know the picture quality of live TV Channels on Jio Fiber STB and how much data Live HD TV Channels consumes. And JioTv+ compares to Airtel IPTV.

SD Channels:
Airtel IPTV: Pathetic
Jio IPTV: Good, but less than Tata Play
Tata Play: Good
Airtel DTH: Ok

HD Channels:
Airtel IPTV: Bearable
Jio IPTV: Good
Tata Play: Better
Airtel DTH: Best

Both Jio & Airtel are capable to provide good picture quality via IPTV. But due to their airfiber stuff, they are compressing a lot to not to interfere with internet speed. Dedicated channel like BSNL IPTV will solve this problem, But not sure when they will

Jio tv stb- Both HD and SD PQ is avg
Jio tv app- SD PQ is quite good better than Tata Play and HD PQ is same as to that of DTH
Tata Play- HD PQ is quite impressive but SD PQ is poor

Jio tv+ have the unmatched PQ in SD channels due to digital feed with day by day technology improvement, even TP/other DTH can't.

After using 25 day use of JioFiber

I must say that PQ of SD feed on JioTv+ is top notch…digital feed looks uncompressed and worth to watch SD channel and HD PQ is also stunning on native.

If they can add zee5 and Sony channel on native it will be good… redirects to app is some time irritating…

Otherwise after installation of JioFiber no Downtime faced till date…Ping and Speed s too good…no issue at all…

I’ve been playing around with picture settings on my Airtel IPTV STB. In the colour settings section, select the YCbCr 4:2:2 12bit. This mode is good enough for broadcasting. There maybe some colour loss as my TV only supports 10bit color

And in modern smart TVs, there is an option to do motion smoothing. In this Xiaomi tv setting I’ve selected Standard, and cricket broadcast is 99% close to a 50fps broadcast. The bowling action is clearer and less jarring compared to other colour settings.

Now only if the bitrate on these channels was good enough, it would have been as good as DTH

The digital feed of channels are in HD resolution on JioTV+...

DTH companies saving bandwidth to reduce satellite cost, so, they are compressing SD channels more to accommodate many channels, but sadly Airtel is compressing it's iptv also.
