Sad News JioHotstar has been removed from Tata Play Binge plans

Tataplay has removed JioHotstar from its binge platform from all the plans effective from 21st of March.

My bad. I had activated annual flexi lite plan by paying 1599 as i felt it's worth for the apps that I used (hotstar being one of the prime reasons). It's not even 10 days since I bought the plan and already JioHotstar has been removed from the platform. I don't find the plan that I have purchased is worthy enough now to be paid so much with Hotstar missing in it. I am trying to cancel my plan in the app but it only stops auto renewal and they don't have any refund policy either.

This looks like similar case as TIC Fiber.

they said that JioHotstar is not providing their OTT app in TIC's offerings and hence they are in the process of changing the OTT plans

I recharged my TIC fiber today.. immediately after the recharge i used to get SMS from Playbox and Watcho about activation of the respective complimentary OTT plans.. but, today there wasn't any such messages.. i waited for few hours and called the customer care.

they said that JioHotstar is not providing their OTT app in TIC's offerings and hence they are in the process of changing the OTT plans because of which their OTT activation is bugged.. they also said that they will manually activate the plans immediately, however i will not get Hotstar for this month..

Looks like JioStar asking more money to pay so Tata Play team removing it. The date is 21st March today. Pls correct it in the 1st post @srihariths

Even though they were renewing it on a month to month basis, my existing subscription was valid till 31st March but it got cut short. They didn't even value ongoing subscriptions.
With such fickle terms it's no point recharging for long term on Binge anymore. Best to just take monthly subscription. Mine is quarterly and I have to bear with it for another 2 months.

Why do I feel that this is money grab from hotstar before ipl?
Many homes would be used to watching via Binge would now have to subscribe separately

Now it clicked me, Jio MUST have pressurized the OTT aggregator players to either remove JioHotstar or payback (JIO) hiked price so that indirectly Jio mobile users will flock to recharge with JioHotstar bundle packs of ₹ 100/195, and all Truly UL 5G plans ( check TnC )
