Why jio is making these changes in fiber router also. This is simply downgrading. 😕

Can anyone tell me where can I get previous firmwares for my Jio Fiber ONT (JCOW404) as it got updated to R3.7 lately and things really bricked, the SSIDs automatically gets switched from 2.4GHz to 5GHz and vice versa, and that's why I think the wifi devices keep on getting reconnected again and again, the LMUI is also broken, there are a lot of settings missing, even the option to Reboot the router got deleted, I understand their idea of controlling the Router remotely with the MyJio network apps, but cmon, there should be an option to disable it as I manage my own router from last 10 years. No matter what settings I change it gets replaced by their image after sometime, it doesn't even let me change the SSID of the 5Ghz band, even I'm facing frequent connection outage on ethernet, everything is just so messed up I want to throw the Router and move to another service provider at this point.

I tried this URL but it's not found
Code:

I'm facing the exact same problem in R3.7 firmware. A technician even visited my home regarding this issue, but they were completely unaware of the update. They contacted their higher authorities, who informed them that this is a firmware update in which the two bands are merged together. When they were asked about the connection issues and the connection outages, they said it would be fixed. However, they did not clearly specify when it would be resolved or why it is happening. They simply said it will be fixed. I just want to get rid of this issue. Does anyone have a solution?

Exactly, this is the problem, as it merges the bands, the devices keep on disconnecting, switching and go haywire.

Yep, this feels absolutely downgrading & unnecessary. Locking certain settings inside the router setup is one thing. For example, Airtel Broadband has grayed out even the DNS Server replacement boxes in their router (Model Nokia G-2425G-A) that we use.

But Jio Fiber's merging of the 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz bands into one confusing mess, which even connected devices aren't able to identify/differentiate properly and provide a continuous & seamless connection, appears to be a rather hastily thought out & poorly executed plan to me. Counterintuitive! 🤦‍♀️

Thankfully (for now?! 😳), my Jio Fiber router is one of their oldest models (JC0500) that we got when they were field testing Jio Fiber in early 2019 at my parents' city (Salem). It appears to have a relatively older firmware (from October 2024) for now, with the dual bands intact. Here's to hoping that it stays the same way! 🤭 🤞

Our Airtel Modem (Nokia G-2425G-A):

The LAN page has grayed out, unchangeable settings.

It's very surprising that your ancient ONT was not yet replaced from Jio end. 😯 They carried out an ONT replacement drive and replaced all old ONTs from early customers some time back I heard.

Your ONT may not get any further firmware updates. It's versioning also look different from rest of the current Jio ONTs.

I searched our forum and found a very old post from 2018 when one of the user received this ONT.

In case others want to see how the JioFiber JCO500 ONT looks like:
