Exactly what I have been doing from the last few years. Using own router has many advantages.

Also, you have rightly said about wifi 6 / 160 mhz. I have been using such a setup and it's providing a seamless experience.

I have recently switched my primary ISP from JioFiber to Airtel Xstream Fiber and due to own wifi 6 router setup, I didn't need to do any changes and everything remained connected.

Yes bro I am doing same from years which makes life easy and hassle free internet operations. Also these ISP routers don't have features. Forget features they can't do basic functionality of emitting stable WiFi signals. As they're cheap Chinese imports or cheap OEM manufactured units. Also these ISPs hide/lock all the features in their router which is just useless. Its like living in copper connection era.

Yes WiFi 6 with 160 MHz channel bandwidth supported router is best as its super efficient due to extra available channel(s) in handling data traffic so there will be no congestion in data transmission than other routers. Also these WiFi 6 routers which uses new OFDMA and MU-MIMO handles connected devices and data traffic efficiently and perfectly. Usually these router companies hide about channels that router supports and don't mention explicitly if it supports 160mhz channel, a big scam in the name of WiFi 6 and ofdma. Also same is the case with MU-MIMO support. They don't mention if its 2x2 or 4x4 MU-MIMO. 4x4 MU-MIMO is best in decent price as 8x8 is pricey and available in high end routers. Asus routers are best in business followed by TP Link - the latter one I'm currently using, AX73 model.

I got some old firmware for JCO404, tried to flash them all one by one, but it seems like they have blocked the firmware downgrade, or flashing through the LMUI, as all of them returned "Firmware invalid or corrupt" which I'm pretty sure are not and I saw some other people also facing the same issue... honestly atp, I'm thinking of replacing their whole ONT with a tplink G3 ONU and a good budget Router like archer c6 which can then have endless possibilities with Openwrt

Can I get the old so that I can try same thing happened with me also and they updated to 3.10.1 and made it worst
