Reliance Jio launches top-up vouchers to increase data speeds post FUP limit
Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio Infocomm has rolled out two new data top-up vouchers for its prepaid and postpaid customers to increase data speeds after meeting the newly introduced FUP limit of 1 GB 4G data a day.
Data speed will slow down substantially to 128 kbps after hitting the FUP limit of 1 GB per day.
The first plan costs Rs 51, which gives Jio customers 1GB of data with 24 hours of validity. This one-day refill pack expires after 24 hours from the time of recharge and it won’t expire at midnight. The second plan costs Rs 301, which gives Jio customers 6 GB of data with 28 days validity.
Jio was earlier offering 4GB data usage per day under its welcome offer to its customers across the country.
Jio on Thursday extended its free voice and data offer for both new and existing subscribers till March 31, 2017, intensifying the brutal price war in telecom sector and causing shares of India’s largest mobile phone operators to tumble.
The Reliance Industries chairman said all those subscribing to the telco’s new ‘ Happy New Year ’ offer between December 4 and March 3 will get a slew of services including voice, data as well as the full bouquet of Jio apps and content free up to March 31, 2017. Jio’s existing 52 million subscribers will automatically migrate to the new offer from the New Year.
