All new LED TVs supports upto 50/60fps. On DTH 4K UHD channel uses 50fps, HD channel uses 30fps

Jio Cinema is providing upscaled Full HD as #Asli4K at 25fps

Still, no doubt Jio Cinema provides much sharper & brighter PQ but due to only 25fps motion it's not as smooth as in Start Sports Channels with 30fps
so now 4K/UHD with 50fps not available from BCCI to Jio Cinema/STAR Sports?

I guess for next season of IPL we can experience #Asli4K with 50/60fps

-> Jio Cinema will be merged with Voot & they will probably adapt to Subscribtion model with separate 4K Plan
-> Star Sports will definitely clear all issues to launch Star Sports 4K channel

They had 6 years to offer IPL in 4K on TV. They owned all TV, digital and production rights. If they had to offer 4K. They would've done it by now. They are streaming since 2014. Yet, no 4K was offered until 2022 when they lost the rights. That's whopping 8 years.

True enough, as per Business POV there no point in bringing expensive 4K Service when you're the only player in the field.

Now, with new player (Jio Cinema) in the field they'll definitely up their efforts to launch a 4K channel for next season

Agree...
What they get benifitted by giving 4k? They only having Binge plus box..limited users using that STB that too for few OTT services...even if they add then only loose some bucks from their pockets...so better to forget...

There is something called bragging rights. Imagine some rival board like PCB offering PSL in 4K backed by some Dubai based broadcaster. Or Sri Lanka Cricket offering LPL in 4K before the biggest cricket league in the world. Financially also makes sense. Good quality offering prevents piracy. If one can spend ₹800 for Internet. They can spend ₹200 to stream their favourite sports at best quality available. If Amazon can offer New Zealand's cricket in 4K. Hotstar could too.

If they provide other events apart from IPL like Wimbledon, Premiere League etc. at realistic price. I can't see why they won't benefit. There is a different convenient watching content on satellite TV over digital mediums. This is why we got those hybrid boxes. Cable and dish despite it's decline still exist at even high internet penetrated market like US.

Jio cinema is doing better than Hotstar from Day1 in live sports with good PQ and brightness, now they need to upgrade to 50fps like Amazon Prime Video cricket streaming
