Just now called up regional DTH head for this exact query. He told currently will be launched ONLY for NEW black customers from around 5-6th of this month in metro cities and in the next 2-3 months, all over India. Will need new box and NO app will be required. It's just gonna be like DTH boxes, bootup and simply enter channel number and channel will open. Data used by IPTV WILL BE counted against quota of Fiber/Airfiber. Today itself within 12 days depleted whole 1TB of airfiber data💀 so obviously wont't suitable for me at least and also average TV viewing household will use up around 150-200 or even upto 250GB data for IPTV if mostly HD channels are watched on an average of 4-5 hours/day. Obviously won't work outside of airtel network. Also, currently NO extra NCF NOC benefits compared to DTH.

Verdict - if you have DTH then keep it. It's the best thing ever. If, for some reason you want to switch to IPTV, make sure you are on Airtel fiber for 3.3TB cap.

Also another verdict - Airtel has become the most money-hungry company, even above Jio

Will they provide same DTH benefits(Rs 350/-) to iptv for black users(699/-plan&above)?

So the channel list will be same as from airtel dth or more and new channels can be expected??

Everything is same as of now w.r.t pricing. Airtel is NOT planning to launch app for existing STB customers. For IPTV, entirely new box will be needed. He told me approx 60-70GB data consumed per month even if heavily TV is used with all HD channels. If he is quoting some marketing material then it's complete BS cuz my friend who uses jiofiber and jiotv+ heavily..his family members...it uses approx 150-200GB data/month as all HD channels are being watched. If airtel's implementation uses less than 100GB/month then channels will be heavily compressed
