Picked at the age of 48 by Kolkata Knight Riders in the auction this Thursday (December 19) for the next year's edition of the IPL, Mumbai leg-spinner Pravin Tambe could be in trouble for having turned up in the T10 league earlier in 2018 in Dubai and Sharjah.
The BCCI doesn't allow any of its registered players to take part in the short-format leagues overseas and hence Tambe's eligibility for the IPL could be up for discussions.
"The rule is clear that they [the players] cannot participate in any T20 or T10 tournaments if he is a [BCCI] registered player," IPL Governing Council chairman Brijesh Patel told Sunday Mid-Day. IPL 2020: Pravin Tambe's KKR stint in trouble after T10 participation
