As many of you are telling, if Kohli's captaincy was really bad this season, then the following would have happened:
- Devdutt would have been benched after the 6th game. More over Devdutt would have not even get chance to bat
- Sundar would not even start 1st half, after second half 4 matches he would have sacked
- Finch would not even played all 11 matches after 6 matches he would have removed long back
- Saini after DC match would not even been squad Umesh would be playing
- Siraj wont even played in Sharjah or this long, or even get more than 2-3 matches
- Gurkeerat Mann would have continued over Dube
Kohli as a batsman let us down this year big time. I'm telling this. Had we seen the vintage 2016 Kohli, we would have been in a better position. Our bowling won us many matches, compared to our batting winning matches, as would be the case every year. If Kohli the batsman would've complimented Kohli the captain, pretty sure at least 2 of lost games would've gone our way (definitely not many in the last 5 because key injuries hurt us a lot in those last 5), and we would have been in top 2.
If Kohli had to be sacked, it should have been done long back after 2017 or 2018. Now the team has done so well after 3 years, so no point in doing that. But If Kohli really stresses himself that he feels he need to step down, it should be straight handover to ABD he will be a part of all matches, already experienced.
It is the clear planning and structure brought in by the new team management, that RCB has reached this far, despite retaining the same Indian core from last year. I really hope RCB don't sack this management at all, but definitely bring in a Jonty Rhodes like fielding coach. That is desperately needed, look at how KXIP fielding improved this year....
