Ever heard the name of Shaun Marsh? Warner? Steven Smith? Not Surprised, if you see there are very few Australians who have succeeded in IPL, but are Very good players for there National team....
It was only after his very very successful stint with PWI (under Ganguly), Smith became such world class batsman for his national team. Before that, he was a mere slow bowler who can just hold the bat as a lower order batsman.
Warner used to be a fringe batsman only, but IPL turned his class.
Even George Bailley was a hugely successful captain for KXIP in 2014, besides being a successful batsman himself.
Aaron Finch's IPL stint opened the door for national team.
Stoinis' batting records (both avg and SR) are much better in IPL than T20Is. Bowling is almost same.
Australia never properly used Shaun Marsh by providing him ample opportunities. He himself was vocal about his father's 'Favorite son'.
Coming back to Maxi, only on this edition of IPL, he's a failure. Same for Watson.
