Have to say that 7:30 pm is the perfect timing for ipl matches to start.
Hope it continues the same way next year also
Otherwise it becomes a 2 day match as most of the matches ends at 12 am midnight or sometimes even beyond that if the match starts at 8 pm.
I disagree with you my friend. I think ideal time is 7 pm. It's perfect time to watch with family as match ends by 11 pm. 7:30 pm drags the match until 11:15 pm atleast. If there is super over then it goes upto 11:45 pm with post match presentation taking place after midnight.

MI, KKR, RCB will never agree to this 7pm start timing in India. They are the only 3 franchises to be against this...

Last year's play offs and finals took place at 7 pm.

Yep, that's cause Star wanted it so badly. Star was fighting for early starts from 2018 itself but MI, Rcb and KKR were opposing it citing that spectators cannt reach by time during busy work days.

don't know about other city's late night transport facilities but in Kolkata early start match is much need cause everyone not have personal car and get common transports at late night near 12am is very difficult and some time last metro also have deadly jam packed i faced similar situation in some matches don't know about other but i personally feel for this reason kkr shouldn't oposose early matches but again revenue comes infront of people's/crowds need.

Could you explain why these three teams specifically, and not CSK, SRH, etc.?

That was the playoffs and finals, over which the franchises have no say.

This is the reason:

Majorly traffic in these cities. Mumbai and Bangalore traffic are an unbearable hell during evenings, when people go back home from their offices... Not too sure why KKR too, but traffic again is the likely concern..

Obviously those teams care a damn about how people can reach their homes, they are only bothered about incoming crowd!
