Forget this if RCB releases Green in the pool
Management can't retail all right?

They better retain Rinku and Chakraborty and rest get into lower prices. If Shreyas is leaving they should focus on getting Rahul or Markram. I don't mind Matthew Wade or Smith As well. Matthew Short+Sherfane Rutherford is also good option. No need to go to Russel or Starc.

Iyer is smart sensed that lot of teams are looking for Indian captain and took the gamble. Ponting might go for him and make him Punjab captain

It's Russell guys...
Its not due to any disagreement or something, but KKR are looking to retain Ramandeep who they view as Russell successor. They are also looking to retain Rana but both have asked for a significantly higher amount than the 4cr prescribed by BCCI.

If they do end up giving 8cr to each of them, they cannot afford another 18cr hit on Russell... (Also partly why RCB is not retaining Green)

I would definitely hope this is not true, because KKR will be dumb to do this. One thing that does give me hope is that their CEO had done a tweet 3-4 years back saying he will retire with KKR, but idk times change, circumstances change...

Also hearing from KKR that CV Varun wants a higher price than 11cr 🥶. He may end up in auction too, but KKR is trying to convince him rn...
Looks like this is confirmed now. S Iyer, Starc, Russell, V Iyer on their way out.
KKR is retaining Narine, Rinku, Rana, CV Varun. Ramandeep negotiations still on...

But they are saving an RTM for at least Russell, but whether they commit to this in the auction or not needs to be seen...

MS Dhoni is one of five players set to be retained by Chennai Super Kings ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, along with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube and Sri Lanka fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana.

"Shubman Gill has taken this step for the franchise as he wanted GT to enter the auction with as much money in the purse as possible. There were plenty of talented players in the existing pool and the captain taking a paycut has allowed the franchise to retain a lot of them. At such a young age, Gill has already started thinking as a leader and is in constant discussions about the mega auction, and the road ahead," says a source close to developments.

RCB were looking elsewhere for captaincy options, too, but felt Kohli was the right man to take the team forward in the cash-rich league. It is understood that Shubman Gill was on their radar and the franchise desperately wanted him on board but it didn't materialise, and there is a strong possibility of them going after Rishabh Pant at the mega auction too.

"At the moment, there are four franchises who have expressed their interest in him - Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings. Expect all four to go hard for him in the auction," a source told TOI.

Why they showing interest in Rahul? We already have choice of Buttler and Jurel.
