Tomorrow is May 1 so only 5 months to go for the World Cup.

In my opinion you should release the schedule even before the qualifiers are done. The qualifiers is for the minnows for fans of the big teams it would be great if they were given atleast 7 months before so they could plan their travel and stay beforehand itself.

For a country the size of Qatar where all it takes is 5 hours via road to reach from any part to any other part the FIFA WC schedule was released 8 months before.

So imagine a country like India where you have to plan flight travel to go from one city to next for the matches how much planning and preparation is required for the fans

So what doesnt mean you have to delay the release of schedule.

You just put placeholder like you do for Asia Cup as India v Q1 and India v Q2

Just because SA, Sri Lanka or WI might be playing doesnt mean that you have to give hardship to fans of team like Aus or Eng or NZ.

If the WC was in WI and if India was not told on which islands India would be playing till 5 months before WC you would have seen lot many people complaining saying we dont when to buy tickets or to which islands to buy tickets to

I think mostly they will play big games at Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and the smaller games at cities like Hyderabad, Guwahati and Indore so max 6 or 7 cities (if Ind v Pak in Ahmedabad).

They wont play any match in Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, Rajkot or Lucknow.
