So i called up Airtel Fiber CC and asked them if Fiber (OFC) is available in my city, lol they cant even check properly which areas have and which dont and asked me to visit local Airtel Store for futher queries.

I visited the store and they asked me to contact the local engineer/technician and he will let me know.

They said AirFiber is avaialble, to which is said, i am a BSNL FTTH connection and i want to shift to Airtel FTTH itself and not AirFiber.

Does anyone know who i can contact in Airtel hight level team if i have to get Airtel to get its OFC to my area. any email ID/Phone number ?

Update 2:

So i got two calls from Airtel Fiber Dept, and i told him my issues that my area doesnt have Fiber OFC and i cannot settle for AirFiber. He asked me how many TV/Phones/PC i have, after which he told me that Fiber is available at a distance from 3 - 4 kms from my home.

While he too was positive that he will forward my request for a Fiber OFC connection to their high ups, he told me that it will expand to other areas soon but doesnt have the exact timeline. This goes in line with what the sales guy said.

Lets hope for the best. will update this thread as and when i get more details.

Update 3:

Got a call from Airtel CC office and the person who i spoke to was like OFC is available at your location. I was like till yesterday it was not available today its available, wow. She asked to book by paying Rs 1000. I said i wont pay anything extra now until i get an update from ground that its available.

Don't Go For AirFiber

Stick To Optical Fiber!

If Possible Let's Escalate And Get Them Done
Pls let me know also what can be done too.

Do you think that makes any difference? Let me inform you that I have already done that and failed miserably. Not to mention, I have escalated to even higher teams but again no luck there either. Fortunately, I at least have JioFiber (optical fiber) to compensate the situation. 🥲

They (the Net customer experience team) only asks for our precise location like house name/number, nearby landmark, pincode etc. and forward it to the local team. The local team then denies feasibility and we get an update that "we checked your area for fiber broadband feasibility and it's not feasible yet. once your area is feasible, you will be informed through relevant media".

The main issue is, almost everywhere (in LCO cities), at the end it's the local team decision who have taken the Airtel Fiber franchisee and they are of no help!

See bro,

The OFC cable is 3kms away from my home, and unless they take a higher management level decision, it wont happen quickly. I called even the local sales and technicians and they said if house was in 500 mts something could have been done, but 3kms is a bit far.

We have a lot of residential apartments but somewhere Airtel has not yet expanded in that sub urban area.
Calling CC also is of no use as they said they will notify once its available. There is no timeframe.

Apart from that they are pushing AirFiber if we cannot wait for OFC. They also said take AirFiber now and in future you can migrate/switch to OFC when it becomes available.
