Android Q beta 4 released this week has Bricked some Pixel devices. Just a few hours after the release, Google was forced to stop the rollout as many Pixel users started complaining about their bricked device after updating.

Official Google Statement-

"We're aware of an issue with Android Q Beta 4 related to installing updates. We've temporarily paused Beta 4 OTA updates to all Pixel devices as we investigate the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience, and will provide an update once the issue is resolved."

No. It means software is corrupted. Device will turn into a brick (no use, only can be used a paper weight). Even service center fails to restore OS many times if its too much damaged and you lost the device even if its physically intact.

There are two types of bricks namely Soft brick and Hard brick. One can come out of Soft brick most of time by flashing proper software. However, it's extremely difficult to come out of Hard brick, the phone then becomes a real brick! I could bring a Moto G out of Hard brick before, and it was a nightmare. I could do it because I had a friend who works at Moto and helped me providing certain files I needed.

In this case it was soft brick, some users claim that it was fixed by factory data reset.

Android Q Beta 5 is pulled just within hours after it's release due to issue on installing updates.

Android Q Beta 5 Rollout is now resumed for all Pixel Phones.

Thank you for your patience as we investigate the issue, which is putting a very small percentage of devices back on Beta 4 after multiple reboots. We have now resumed the Beta 5 OTA rollout.
