Rising Pune Supergiants have, on Monday (May 2), signed up Australian batsman George Bailey as their replacement for the injured Faf du Plessis for Indian Premier League 2016.

Last week, South Africa's Twenty20 International captain Faf du Plessis was ruled out of the remainder of the tournament with a broken finger.

The Supergiants are also without the services of Kevin Pietersen, who was ruled out earlier with a calf tear, Mitchell Marsh and Steven Smith. Bailey's Australian teammate, Usman Khawaja was, last week, called in as replacement for Kevin Pietersen.

Bailey will return to familiar surroundings having previously played under MS Dhoni and Stephen Fleming while at Chennai Super Kings. The Supergiants will hope that the inclusion of the Australian boosts the struggling side back into the reckoning for the next stage.

They are currently reeling at number six having notched up only two wins out of a possible eight.

They bought him before KXIP have thought it :p :lol
BTW Punjab need some fierce hitter in as replacement for Marsh as Vijay has done good captaincy in his first game so Bailey was not needed
