I think 2000s are the true underrated years. There needs to be nostalgia about same. That is the time I consider before future. This is the when we were first exposed to technology. We play games on our NES/PCs/PlayStation. But on weekends and vacation. Appreciated what was on TV. Still bothered to read some magazines and novels. Started clicking pictures for random events via our digital cameras and phones. Started using phones for more than just calling. Still used facebook to connect with friends and started using twitter for giving opinions we wouldn't do irl.

We had our internet cafe. Sad thing was not getting to personally exploit it like for playing games and cartoon sites. I use to mostly go for Britannica and other stuff along with some ocassional WWE. Man downloading songs was so pain. It took 15-20 minutes to download one single song.

I was lucky when it came to DVDs. My uncle had a store. I had every possible movie available on market. It was like Netflix to me. Years ago Netflix or Big Flix was a thing here. 😜 The cartoon collection I had. Even Cartoon Network and Pogo couldn't match at that time.

Talking about Sports. Do you remember SportStar? It was a sports magazine which covered pretty much everything. Best part was the centre fold which you could use as a poster.

@Prithi Deb bro. You can relate to this. Why do we buy air guns during Durga Pujas here? It makes no sense to me now after growing up. I recall wasting thousands buying guns which goes bad within a day. I recall going through atleast 3 guns every puja. It use to start on Shashti with dad buying the first gun. Than it's mom, brother, sister and than aunt. By Dashami we add our money to buy the final gun. Just why? I still see kids doing same every puja.

To destroy the evil I guess. 😅

But nowadays no need for that. As the evil runs away by hearing the noise from those hornpipes played by all the chhapri boys.

I hate those so much. It is beyond irritating. You can shut chhapri boys. But once some kid has that. You are screwed. You can't do anything about it. 😜
