Discussion Gautam Adani looking to enter the telecom sector

Any type of competition is a good news for us, the end consumers. VoId has been and still now acting like a cry baby plus a tail-piece of Airtel. So their presence or even (to some extend) their absence will not make a big difference wrt to competition in telecom.

Even though Adani group's entry may NOT be as disruptive as Jio's entry in 2016, still this may bring the much needed competition in Indian Telecom, especially if they come together with some foreign player. Considering the Spectrum cost of 5G bands in N78 and mmWave and very liberal payment terms, RoI will be a cake-walk, imho. Total value of 100MHz in N78 PLUS 1GHz in mmWave spectrum amounts to just below 40k crore for 20 years --> 2000 crores per year. Only thing is, Adani needs to buy 5MHz in N28 for voice services. Still NOT a big deal for them, imho.

But, still we can't deny the chances of replaying the IPL 2022 drama in this spectrum auction as well.

We can expect this soon

Adani Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited
no it must be tata BSNL network of bharat. ( TBNB)

later expand to international location/countries.
tcs almost ready with indian stack for 4g/5g core. same can also be sold independent to other nation or buy out operation and run those network with inhouse developed core

as theccase, MTNL is running mobile service in Mauritius

Is a colloboration between Adani and Verizon is possible? They were also interested to enter the Indian market. Verizon with it's experience seems like an ideal partner for the Adanis.
very good thought but very neglible chance. Mr adani dont want to go on path of 2G spectrum scam followed by many indian big business house like DB realty by selling stake to gulf country operator , and other ruswian, sigapore, companies .

adani doesn't need verizon's help.

neither verizon interested in fat and deep poket indian co-promoter.

verizon could have partucipated in this auctions with some weak indian promotor, if they are seriously considering to start greenfield network on indian land., but it seems they didnt participanted

That's really exciting news, competition is always good for customers. Right now competition was almost over, all three companies were in sync in raising the pricing.
Don't pin your hopes on competition keeping price hike in check. A price war if happens at the time of entry will be short lived and ultimately all operators will form a new cartel to keep pricing in sync with each other like it happened with Jio and the incumbent operators.

no needed, adani can easily and reliably and cheapely depend with existing teleco by either roaming or spectrum sharing only for voice service
just below 40k crore for 20 years
COAI will be laughing at you by reading JUST, as they were expecting 90% price cust compared 2021 prices

Foreign players like Verizon will not interest in Indian market due to lowest data rates in the entire world as Vodafone was already faced the heat of Indians.

intention would not be in the consumer mobility business

Whether he plans to go into head on combat with Jio in the retail telecom segment or prefers to stick to 5G and target only the enterprise segment avoiding starting a new price war like we saw at Jio's entry.
Like I expected, Adani is only targeting the Enterprise segment. No intention to enter retail telecom, so no price war to be looking forward to.
