Never heard that before..

Namkeen is a broad term for snacks....on Haldiram's website it is a section...under namkeen section, they have various snacks....they are also calling it "Mixture"

 
Normally, Tummy hurts after having it because of excessive intake of Gram Flour. My tummy hurts after realising that we just consumed Rs.160 in few minutes.
India is the largest producer of chana in the world. I don't think the price is due to chana...it may be due to other ingredients.
 
Its called as Tadgola in Hindi and Munjakayalu in Telugu..

I remember when I visit hometown. My grand parents made tyres with them to play.
Today's kid's i guess they don't know that.
I did the same re-lived my dream again last week at my ancestral home down south.. So much memories.

Haldiram or Local vendor made Chanachur(Mixture) available here in Bengal from 50gm packet to 400gm packet. And price of 400gm pack start from 75 /-to 110 /-.
We bengalis preferable took Puffed Rice add coriander leaves , Mango pickle oil, onion, chili, lemon juice, Peas nad mix well with mixture and topped with a fresh coconut slice. Its a common fast food here , specially in local train.

I just had this. Only difference is no pickles and instead of chana chur I used home-made fried peanuts. 😋
