Sony Six also because they don't have so many cricket rights except Pakistan cricket.

The rights for the Pak-SL series were sold to Six just for one series, Ten Sports still has the rights for PCB.

I guess Neo will hold onto its Bangladesh cricket rights, as after French Open then don't have pretty much anything (other than some boring PGA) to show until the Bundesliga starts in August.

But I would want Star to take the rights as I want to catch the series in HD.

I think the best solution is let DD -Sports telecast it as the best part is DD -Sports Channel available on all8 dths - DISH TV / TATA SKY / AIRTEL DIGITAL TV / VIDEOCON D2H / RELIANCE DIGITAL TV / SUN DIRECT PLUS / FREE DISH / ZING DIGITAL.

According to Prasar bharati act DD sports cannot broadcast sports of national interest(in this case cricket).

The Sports Broadcasting Act of 2007 says, “No content rights owner or holder and no television or radio broadcasting service provider shall carry a live television broadcast on any cable or Direct- to- Home network or radio commentary broadcast in India of sporting events of national importance, unless it simultaneously shares the live broadcasting signal, without its advertisements, with the Prasar Bharati to enable them to re-transmit the same on its terrestrial networks and Direct- to- Home networks in such manner and on such terms and conditions as may be specified.”

Prasar Bharati has asked for it to be changed to “its terrestrial networks or Direct- to- Home networks” or “on its FTA networks available on various platforms” so that they have flexibility on the channel they want to show it. The OC on DD Sports is negligible.

Besides broadcasting cricket hurts DD in terms of financially according to DD audit report.

DD national also telecast this series..
